What is a Data Logger?
What is a Data Logger?
A device that uses sensors to record measured data onto a storage medium.
Compared to oscilloscopes, their sampling speed is slower, but they enable multi-channel, long-term measurement.
Graphtec Iwatsu data loggers are designed for versatile use, allowing them to measure a wide variety of phenomena. For this reason, they feature an intuitive button layout and user-friendly menu structure, ensuring ease of use for all customers.
In addition, these instruments feature a variety of functions, including sampling rates of up to 1 MS/s (on select models), expandability up to 200 channels (on select models), multi-function inputs, and isolation between all channels. Graphtec Iwatsu Test Instruments offers a wide range of products to meet the diverse needs of measurement applications.

How to Choose a Graphtec Iwatsu Data Logger

- By reducing the number of channels, data collection is possible at a maximum sampling speed of 5 ms (10 ms for GL260).
- Wireless measurement is enabled with the wireless LAN unit.
- GL260: Fixed 10 channels, compact body.
- GL860: Lineup of 4 input terminal types selectable to match your application.
- Expandable up to a maximum of 200 channels using options (GL860 only).

Useful Features of Graphtec Iwatsu Data Loggers
Measurement Functions
Scaling
This function converts analog voltage from a sensor into different units for measurement.
Memory-Related Functions
Ring / Relay Recording Function
It features a “Ring Recording Function” that automatically deletes the oldest data once the specified number of data points per file is reached, and a “Relay Recording Function” that seamlessly records continuous data by splitting files into specified relay units without losing any data.
Backup Function
The recorded data can be automatically backed up to another storage medium at regular intervals. With the FTP client function, the recorded data can be automatically backed up to an FTP server or another storage medium at regular intervals.
Backup Interval: 1, 2, 6, 12, or 24 hours
Backup Destination: SD1, SD2, or FTP
File Format: GBD or CSV
Data can be saved in CSV format.
Available when the sampling speed is slower than 100 ms.
SD card replacement
The SD memory card can be replaced while data is being recorded or backed up. (Available when the sampling speed is slower than 100 ms.)
Communication-Related Functions
Web Server Function
This function allows you to configure the GL series and monitor measured values on a web browser. It is also equipped with an FTP server function, enabling the transfer and saving of recorded files within the GL series to a PC.
